Scout Multimedia Essay Contest Terms & Conditions
Entrant will write an essay of no more than 1,500 words in response to the contest question, which will be posted on the Scout Multimedia website. Each essay will be judged by Scout Multimedia’s panel of experts based on thoroughness of response and presentation quality.
The Third prize will consist of a complimentary evaluation and a set of recommendations from a professional editor.
The Second prize will consist of three months’ complimentary subscription to Scout marketing services, as well as a complimentary evaluation and a set of recommendations from a professional editor.
The Grand prize will consist of a contract with Scout Multimedia to publish any work by the entrant, plus three months’ complimentary subscription to Scout Multimedia marketing services, as well as a complimentary evaluation and a set of recommendations from a professional editor.
Essays will be given 50 possible points for thoroughness of their answer to the current month’s question, and an additional 50 possible points for the quality of presentation of that answer. The total of points awarded in both categories will be the entrant’s final score. Final scores between 70 and 79 will qualify for the Third prize, 80 and 89 for the Second prize, and 90 and 99 for the Grand prize. The highest score at each level will be awarded the prize. Any score of 100 will automatically be awarded the Grand prize. Maximum one (1) winner of each prize level per contest period. Entrants who qualify for a prize but do not win will be awarded a discounted marketing package. There is no limit for how many contests may be entered by an entrant, but only one entry is allowed per contest period. Winners will be notified by email after January 7, 2014, and their names will be posted on the Scout Multimedia blog after January 8, 2014.
How to Enter:
The contest begins at 12:00 am Pacific Time on September 1, 2013, and ends at 11:59 pm PT on December 31, 2013. To enter, send your answer to the contest question in a Microsoft Word document attached to the form on the Submission Page . Essays will not be considered in any other format. Essays should be submitted in English at a maximum of 1,500 words in Times New Roman font at 12 pt. size. Essays will not be returned. Entrant warrants that his or her essay (1) is original and does not infringe the intellectual-property rights of any third party, (2) has not been published in any medium, and (3) has not won an award. The email must contain: Full Name, Telephone Number, Email Address, Mailing Address, City, State, Zip.
Open to holders of legitimate email accounts worldwide, age 18 or older at time of entry. Employees of Scout Multimedia and its affiliates, vendors and marketing agencies (including immediate family members of such employees) are not eligible. Void where prohibited by law.
Release and Privacy of Personal Information:
By entering the contest, entrants agree that Scout Multimedia has the right to publish the winners’ names, photos, and essay content on the website (http://scoutmultimedia.com) or in press releases and marketing materials distributed to the public. If the winner does not wish to have names and/or photographs published, the writer will need to state so in writing directly to Scout Multimedia and send by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Scout Multimedia will not sell or publish sensitive information, such as home addresses or email addresses, and will not sell or give any personal information to any third party for solicitation reasons.
